abstraction

there is a lot of pain in life. sometimes it feels like the more we speak, the less we understand. it is easy to point the finger. it is harder to be constructive. distance makes talking harder. silence makes me nervous. it is hard to create cultures of mutuality and empowerment.

  2. there is a lot. and when you’re in the middle of it, the balance of speaking, listening, and being in silence seems so delicate, so hard to get right. but somehow people come out on the other side, somehow God keeps people and events moving, past pain and past feeble attempts at dealing… i think that if you were soil, tilling time would be your most painful. can you remember growing pains? and i have heard that there is some not negligible degree of pain involved in giving birth too… are there painless opportunities?
