a lighter note: my forgotten toothbrush

5th plane trip in 7 days and I'm getting sloopy. I forgot my toothbrush.

And this is a genuine story I can read my class about a turtle who also forgot his toothbrush: The story of “How Turtle Flew South” appears in many cultures. This version is a combination of Native American tale and a Chinese Buddhist version.

"getting sloopy" ... I love the way that a typo can open up a whole new linguistic idea. LIke when kids mis-use words. Excellent. Suggested Definition of "sloopy": tired, busy, but happy and relaxed

When I saw Steve yesterday (sans shoes at one point) I was searching for the adjective to describe his appearance and demeanour. Now I know what it was - "sloopy!" Maybe it's a verb too like "schlep" is.

I like the verb idea, Stephen! After a long tough week, and a weekend of writing up research ahead of me, I'm aware that I'm tired and too busy. But instead of getting stressed, I'm going to 'sloop' through the weekend.
