the day my wife left me
I finished the final edit of my PhD here, this time a year ago. (Thanks Tim for the place and the pic!)
My wife drove me there, muttered something about love and not returning until I finished, and left me. No car. No phone. No internet. Just the view and a final draft to edit.
I started my PhD with the basic question; how missionally effective is the emerging church. I wanted to explore this both in relation to the church and the culture.
These new forms of church; how do they relate to church over the last 2000 years; these new imaged based ways of worship; how do they shape our faith; postmodernity; and how are we using the culture?
I’ve had 21 requests to buy it … the offer remains open to 24th September …

Not exactly how I remember it…!
I do remember tho the fact that the shop we hoped you might be able to walk to had become a much greater distance away (4km one way is prob a little far to walk for an icecream… and besides, you were meant to be W O R K I N G – remember!)
But I had sent you with delicious and sustaining food.
And I did come back!

Wow, our bach is famous, and will one day become a place of theological pilgrimage, I’ve just been told that a recently published work also credits the location!

i have been called many things, as has my work, but rarely “suitable” or “theological”!
Another Advertisers message: it is a great spot – views are stunning when the tide is up BUT mowing the lawns is a mission!

Mowing the lawns was most likely a mission because of the 100cm of rain that fell just prior…!
