welcome to

any wee scotties, i.e church leaders throughout Scotland.

I am lead to believe that my blog was named as a e-news resource by the Mission and Discipleship Council, an ecumenical grouping resourcing church leaders throughout Scotland.

So welcome. The Taylor family have very fond memories of our 3 month sojourn in Scotland in 2001, while I was on study leave, working on my PhD, eating butties and admiring the rugged Coastlines of Aberdeenshire.

I'll never forget that first nite wondering the cobbled streets of aberdeen and walking to my university desk to write, pondering how many student had sat at that desk before me and how many doctorates had been written in Aberdeen before mine.

a wonderful perspective on the frivolity and fraility of all my mutterings and musings!

Thanks Steve, for regularly sharing in such an honest and creative way. Your name is now well known around Hilton Church, Inverness. We plan to do our version of Stoning the Prophets in the autumn. One of the many good ideas we have picked up from your blog!

Hi Duncan. Yeah, stoning the prophets was fun. the name and concept were not mine, but came from Tom Innes, a local Anglican priest.

What was unique for us at Opawa was the way I tied it to a sermon series on the minor prophets, the space that was created by one of our artists, and the use of "what struck you" as a question to allow participation around the text.

do let us know how it goes. it's a thrill to see the way the internet allows creativity to be shared isn't it.

makes me wonder how on earth did Jesus do it without the web?
