Liturgy site

Bosco Peters has a liturgy site up and running, which, among other things includes prayers for the day.

This prayer for this week:

Merciful God,
you gave your only Son
to be both a sacrifice for sin
and an example of godly life;
help us gladly to receive
all that he has done for us
and follow in his footsteps;
through Jesus Christ our Saviour
who is alive with with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God now and for ever.

Sometimes people seem to emphasis EITHER the sacrifice OR the example.

I am ever keen to live as if i believe in, as if my life is shaped by, both the sacrifice and the example.

Thanks for the positive reference, Lynne.
I appreciate your insightful brief reflection on the weekly prayer. I’d love you to unpack your “as if”s some more…
I always appreciate your welcome to your church. I think we are trying to do the same thing in different ways. Make sense of and proclaim good news in a very new context: post-Christian, post-modern, post-denominational.

Lynne, thanks for the link. Looks great. I was reading a couple of reflections by Bosco when at the Kopua Monastery recently for a night.
