Jesus washes Osama’s feet

Just saw this picture, Lars Justinen from the Justinen Creative Group, who painted the above picture to use on posters advertising a conference. It was from 2007, so I’m a bit slow.

After some of my posts this week (Augustine, Bono, Revelation on Osama), does someone need to now paint a picture of Jesus preparing Osama’s body for burial, according to Muslim custom, weeping for the state of our world today?

  1. I wonder how many Christians would have their backs up upon seeing this painting? And the irony is, is that the painting reflects a deeply profound theological truth: That God does love us all. A most difficult truth for some Christians to explain away (if they tried), especially those that want to make scapegoats out of those they deem their enemies; God allows no wriggle-room for that.

(takes a second look at the painting, and notices that Osama is flanked by George W. Bush Jr and Kofi Annan)

  2. Brilliant aint it. I used this pic in recent essay after coming across it and the story behind it in one of Greg Boyd’ s books.
