Google ads
Since this blog costs me to run, I’m playing with using Google ads on this site to “fund” my habit. It might take a day or so to get ads in the right zone, so in the meantime, I might not support all the ads you see.

I tried google ads, but decided they weren’t going to be worth the effort, though I’m sure they could be if you were willing to put in the effort. Problogger has helpful tips (it also looks like he reads you blog, with a timely post on experimenting with adsense).
A different tack might be to do a little self publishing and sell some of your material as PDF’s at a low price.

Graeme,
Any thoughts on what might be worth self-publishing? And I presume you mean using say lulu?
I feel I am treading a tightrope. It costs me to run this blog. Yet people appreciate it in terms of visitor numbers. So I am looking for ways to reduce the cost to me, both in terms of hosting, and in terms of being a “volunteer” thing that cuts into recreational time.
peace
