prayer as snowboarding or skate boarding video
I am leading a prayer time for a community youth service tomorrow nite. I am wondering about praying “eyes open” – ie showing a video of snowboarding or skateboarding and then praying that in God we will have the same freedom, fun and discipline ie learn the moves.
any suggestions on useful video clips, as its not my scene?

Your snowboarding/skateboarding thing reminds me of Steve Collins “Parable of the Snowboarder”.

The only skateboarding movie I can think of off the top of my head is “Dog Town & Z-Boys” (It’s on Sky Movies 1 tonight if you can find someone to tape it)
Date: Wed 21 Jul 2004 01:45AM
Duration: 95 Minutes Channel: SKY Movies 1
Genre: Movie, Drama Censorship: MV
Synopsis: Documentary: Kicking off in the California community of Dogtown, this film traces the evolution of skateboarding, from its ’70’s heyday to its status today as a lucrative sport. Narrated by Sean Penn.

Hope it goes well.

Hi Steve.
Your local decent video store should have a range of snowboarding movies, some set to soundtracks, or you could jsut do your own.

I reckon the intro sequence to ‘Live and Let Die’ – where James Bond snowboards using a variety of objects. Maybe you could analogise that in xian life we too need to occasionally reconsider what lies underfoot 🙂
