wasted by a jet plane
Travel effects me in three ways-
: disrupted sleep, which leaves me feeling quite spaced for day 1 and 2.
: disrupted body clock, which leaves me feeling quite drained for day 3 and 4
: disrupted rhythm, which leaves me struggling to get back into the groove of place and people. This is often worst in day 5 and 6. It is not helped by the piles of marking that sit on my desk at BCNZ (Update: 20 exam scripts + 20 reading reports + 6 personal preaching reflections + odds and ends).

I have a terrible time with sleep. I’m looking at this:
July 5-6: Spacy
July 7-8: Drained
July 9-10: Trying to get in the groove
And the update looks awful.
I have a similar story…
July 4:
Up until 2:22am finishing a report after doing the firework show
July 5:
Dog sticks nose in ear early
Trying to make up yesterday
Thinking I have to work 3×13 hour days
in a row to catch up.
July 6-8: Try to eek out 13 hour days
July 9: My parent’s 40th anniversary… long drive
July 10: Jury summons (I seriously cannot function as a civil participant… I have to confuse them… so they’ll think I’m whacky… I’ve done this twice now)
But the 2:22am thing, and the 1:00am thing tonight is going to wipe me out. And I am not only supposed to function, I am supposed to -advance- with new ideas. However sometimes I’m surprised. I feel good and I don’t even know why.
I will try and feel your plane pain.
