admin stuff

1. This is a blog held together by a version of MT that no longer receives customer support. It is groaning under it’s own weight. Be assured that despite error messages your comments DO post. So please don’t try lots of times!

2. Gospel and post-Christian students, the tutorial reading for next Wednesday 23rd August is chapter 6 and 7 of A New Kind of Christian.

  1. Steve,

If you are seriously going to discuss McLaren with your students, don’t you think that it should be over an Australian Red Wine? Might stimulate the conversation somewhat.

  2. some australian red wines are ok.

    might depend on
    a) the quality of the wine
    b) the quality of the company who engage with the reading
    c) the quality of the reading. In mclarens’ case, and judging by much of the interent, many people find his work rather stimulating.

We are not reading mclaren as THE gospel, but because he now offers a good body of work which allows a critical thinking and a testing how helpful he is to mission in New Zealand context. That, at least, is the major class essay question, – how helpful is the mclaren project for gospel in post-christian new zealand.

  3. 2 CHAPTERS? Why do lecturers think we having nothing else to do? Okay, I’m not in your class, but my lecturers don’t have blogs for me to complain on. And honestly, I’m not superhuman. I don’t have time to read two chapters for each class. I take more than one class!

    End of rant.

    It’s not your fault.
