Amazing Grace is based on the life of antislavery pioneer William Wilberforce. Opawa Baptist has taken a punt and block booked the Rialto for a special advance screening this Sunday night. Following the movie, people can move to local cafes to discuss the movie, using our specially pre-pared discussion guide.
Hey Steve, I’m curious to know what you are planning to discuss at the justice weekend. I am part of a social justice group here that meets monthly to discuss issues. Recently we have discussed what to do with women who are working in prostitution. We have also spent some time discussing the situation in North Korea and particularly refugees. Tomorrow we are getting together to discuss Shane Claibornes book Irresistable Revolution (as an aside, if people want to keep their Christianity safe, I’d recommend they not read it). Anyway, I’d be interested to hear what you plan to discuss, and also any ideas you might have about other social justice issues.
